Frequently Asked Questions
What size drywall sheets should I use?
4x8 (32 sq ft) is the most common for DIY. 4x12 (48 sq ft) sheets reduce seams but are heavier and harder to handle alone.
How much joint compound do I need?
One 4.5-gallon bucket of pre-mixed joint compound covers about 480 sq ft for standard 3-coat finishing.
Should I include the ceiling?
Yes, if you are finishing the ceiling with drywall. Skip it for rooms with existing ceilings you are not replacing.
